Josh Stearns & Erica Carlson are expecting their son to be born very soon (the due date was on Thursday). We're looking forward to hearing about the big announcement any day now!

New parents tend to be given a lot of advice (mostly unsolicited), so in anticipation of the flood of information, they decided to so something different. Josh writes:

When Erica and I began telling people we were going to have a baby, we decided to try to head off the inevitable flood of unsolicited advice by soliciting it ourselves. We began asking all of the young parents we knew to send us their best pieces of advice, their reading lists, their favorite web sites. The response was amazing. People responded with care, passion, frustration, and wit. They sent general reflections and specific suggestions. Sometimes the advice was unanimous, oftentimes it conflicted, but what surprised us was that nearly every person said the best advice they could offer was to simply ignore all the advice. That’s right, above all else they said, trust yourselves and trust your child. “Go with the flow,” “Enjoy the ride,” “Follow your gut.” “Let instinct guide you.”

The result of all of this is the e-book compiled and edited by Josh and Erica titled “Whatever You Do Just Ignore My Advice.” It's a perfect mix of advice, support, wit and useful references.

New Customization Tool

We just launched the new customization tool for Baveo!

Now, Baveo users can modify all of the colors on their baby blogs and also upload a custom background image. We're excited to launch these very important tools and we're looking forward to seeing how our users customize their sites!

Additionally, we've also started a partnership with The Freshman Fund. The Freshman Fund is the easiest way to help save for your child's college education by making it easy for friends and family to contribute to their college 529 savings plan. If you'd like to add The Freshman Fund to your baby blog, just click on the "Registries" link in your Baveo settings and check the box next to the Freshman Fund.

We're excited to announce that we just added some great new features to Baveo today!

Twitter & Facebook

Making it easy to post to Twitter and Facebook from the dashboard was one of the most requested features that our users have been asking for. Starting todayl, whenever you make a post to your Baveo blog, you'll immediately be able to share it to Facebook or Twitter.

If your blog is set to 'Private' visitors to your Facebook page will see the post that you decided to share, but they won't be able to see the rest of your Baveo site without first being approved by you. With Twitter, users will see a link to your Baveo site, but will only be able to see the post if they've been approved by you.

Zazzle

We've added a "Print" button iunderneath all photos on Baveo. If you click on the print button, you'll be taken to Zazzle and see that photo available for purchase on everything from US Postage to mugs. Check it out!
